Benefits of Therapy

Therapy can offer a sense of clarity, relief, and renewed confidence. Many people find it helps them understand themselves better, navigate relationships with more ease, make difficult decisions, and feel less alone in their struggles. It provides a supportive space to explore past experiences, manage stress or low mood, and move toward personal growth and emotional wellbeing.

I follow your pace, no pushing or rushing, just gently allowing

I work with a whole spectrum of needs and goals and find that therapy is all about the trust in the therapeutic relationship, once trust is built, the therapy really begins and the desired change can come. I follow your pace and respond to your needs as they arise.

The work could involve talking and creative media, little talking and an emphasis on creative means or the focus could be with talk. It all depends on what works for the individual. I respond moment to moment and always follow your pace and preference. My priority is creating safety and trust. For some people creative media can be a supportive and a gentle way to explore vulnerability and access places of pain. For others it could feel like a clear ‘no way’! This is why I always check-in with what feels right for each person, in each moment. No pushing and I aim to create an environment of allowing and permission to ‘be’.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can counselling help with?

Counselling can support anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, trauma, parenting challenges and emotional overwhelm.

What happens during counselling sessions?

Sessions provide a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Together we work towards greater understanding, healing and positive change.

How long does counselling last?

Every person is different. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others choose longer-term therapy. We review progress regularly and decide together what feels right.

Do I need to have a specific problem to come to counselling?

No. Many people come because they feel stuck, disconnected or want a space to focus on themselves and their wellbeing.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in counselling is confidential, except in rare circumstances where there are concerns about safety.

How often are sessions?

Most clients attend weekly sessions, although other arrangements can be discussed depending on your needs.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s completely okay. We can figure it out together.
