Integrative Baby Therapy

Integrative Baby Therapy (IBT)

Babies are far more aware and sensitive than we often realise.
Their experiences in the womb, during birth, and in their first days of life can have a lasting impact on how safe, settled and regulated they feel in the world.

When a baby seems inconsolable, restless, unsettled, struggling with sleep, feeding or colic, it isn’t simply “nothing” or something parents are doing wrong. Sometimes these behaviours are signs that something earlier hasn’t yet been fully processed or integrated.

Integrative Baby Therapy (IBT) offers a gentle, respectful way of listening.

It supports babies to express and release what they may still be holding in their bodies and nervous systems, while helping parents understand their baby’s cues and communication more deeply.

At the heart of IBT is the belief that babies already know how to heal — they simply need the right space, safety and support.

How IBT works

IBT helps parents recognise their baby’s unique “body language” and different types of crying.

Some cries relate to present-moment needs like hunger or tiredness. Others can be what’s sometimes called “memory crying” — a release of earlier stress or overwhelm.

By slowing down and truly listening, we allow babies to move through these feelings safely, rather than carrying them forward.

Sessions are always:

  • permission-based

  • baby-led

  • gentle and non-invasive

  • supportive for the whole family

Nothing is ever forced. Your baby sets the pace.

Alongside supporting your baby, there is also space for you. Your feelings, instincts and experiences matter too. When parents feel heard and supported, babies benefit enormously.

Often families notice:

  • more settled behaviour

  • easier sleep

  • improved feeding

  • less crying

  • a deeper sense of connection and confidence
